Nicole L. Coley

Nicole L. Coley's passion is nestled in the likes of helping others. She is currently employed full-time with Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and is part of the behavioral health staff with Columbia-St. Mary’s. Nicole’s other job duties include federal re-entry, clinical supervision, counseling (individual and group), consultation, AODA treatment, as well as mental health and trauma education and training. In 2011 Nicole began working in private practice to continue doing the work she so loves.
Nicole has diverse ability to use many counseling modalities however Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and corrective thinking techniques are primary in Nicole’s work. Most of Nicole’s work surrounds the adult population, specifically in the criminal justice system. Nicole was also trained as a Parenting/Nurturing facilitator in 2002 and still uses some of the principles in her primary work. In 2019 she completed training for sex offender treatment.
Nicole completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and drug counseling at Alverno College, where she joined The National Honors Society in Psychology (PSI CHI). She went on to complete her Masters degree at Mount Mary University in community counseling with a focus on mental health and trauma. Additionally, Nicole is credentialed in alcohol and drug counseling and has been working in the field for over 15 years. Nicole also competed the Trauma Counseling certification in May of 2019.
Endorsing positive community participation, Nicole understands the struggles of today’s society and uses her work to aid the in the change for a better and safer community. Nicole is the president of Sister Nurturing A Purpose (S.N.A.P) social club concept with a twist; that thrives on sisterhood, encouraging and motivating women to embrace their worth.
Nicole resides in Milwaukee County. When she is not working, she loves to spend time with family and friends. She recognizes that self-care is imperative to the helping profession therefore she makes it a priority to maintain her physical, mental, and spiritual well being.
