EFCC offers a wide variety of services, including diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, art therapy, and counseling with individuals, families and couples.
Individual Therapy Individual psychotherapy, or "talk therapy," is an empirically validated approach to alleviate suffering and mental health concerns. Psychotherapy can help to reduce mental health symptoms that are having an unwanted impact in our lives while also helping us to understand ourselves better. At EFCC, we offer therapy to address a wide range of concerns. We also offer specialized forms of treatment including: Hypnosis and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). We also offer play therapy for children.
Family and Couples Counseling At EFCC, we believe that healthy relationships sustain healthy individuals. Family and couples therapy can help to strengthen your relationships by addressing the communication patterns, expectations, and interactions of the family, especially those patterns that might be contributing to distress. Family counseling can help facilitate positive changes within the family system. Couples counseling may be an appropriate approach for couples that are preparing to deepen their relationship or have encountered some difficulties along the way.
Psychological Testing We provide psychological assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults. We are able to assess for ADHD, cognitive functioning (IQ/learning disorders), personality functioning, and diagnostic clarification.
Art Therapy Art therapy is a practice where the use of art materials and the creative process are used to explore feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, and resolve behavioral problems. The creation of art offers individuals an alternative form of communication that is accepting and non-judgmental. Art therapy focuses on the emotional and physical process of making art and also the meaning that is evoked by the end product. Art therapy integrates psychotherapeutic techniques with the creative process to improve mental health and wellbeing. Participating in art therapy requires no prior artistic knowledge or talent.
Substance Abuse Counseling Substance abuse counseling is a targeted intervention for individuals in differing phases of the recovery process. Counseling sessions may focus on motivating the person to stop using drugs or alcohol, while also providing emotional support. As recovery becomes more of an active choice, treatment then shifts to helping the person stay drug and alcohol free. Counseling can help an individual to identify and acknowledge their problem and become motivated to change.
